A Pocketful of Hope
“Meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you was beyond my
control.” Author Unknown
Being an incurable romantic (and married to my own hero/husband for 25 years), I love to see people in love and
I love to hear their stories of how they met and fell in love. And of course, it goes without saying, one of my all
time favorite holidays is…you guessed it…Valentine’s Day. (And not just because of the chocolates. Though, I
have to admit, this comfort food does put a smile on my face.)
So, it was inevitable I had to weave a love story around Valentine’s Day. It was also inevitable I had to express
my own belief in love and in its ability to conquer all. Without this belief, there is no hope. Life would be dark
hues and somber shadows.
My hero, Janek, has a wall of concrete cemented around his heart. Did he erect it because he wanted to keep
people out? Or to see if someone had the courage and determination to tear it down?
Meeting Kerry was by Divine appointment. Becoming her friend was a choice. Falling in love with her?
Definitely beyond his control. And the color of his life? Well, if Harmony Village’s Cupid Cat has anything to say
about it, it will be nothing less than brilliant and dazzling.
The color of love. I love it.
